The Digital Tourist conference is an event that brings together various stakeholders working in Smart Tourism Destinations and it is a venue for them to discuss how the use of technology helps gain competitiveness in tourism.
This year´s edition took place in Benidorm, Spain from 9-10 June 2022. Natural language processing expert and Saint George on a Bike partner Joaquim Moré, from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, was invited to take part in a roundtable discussion in Digital Tourist 2022 titled "Escalando La Experiencia Inmersiva En Destino: El Metaverso" (Climbing the Immersive Experience in Destination: The Metaverse). This session, which included other participants working in tourism, digital technologies and metaverses, focused on how new immersive and simulation tools are being successfully applied in the tourism sector.
